Message from our school Librarian...
Hello, Forest Park/Fishing Cove families!
Students in grades 3, 4, and 5 are again invited to participate in the Rhode Island Children’s Book Award (RICBA) reading competition that will end with the 2026 Rooster Games at the close of the school year!
Students have from now until the beginning of May to read at least five books on the list of twenty RICBA nominees. I keep copies in the library, but you are welcome to find them at the public libraries as well. Click here to see more information about this year’s list.
Once students have read a book on the list, they must complete a form located in Google classroom for each book. We have all practiced doing this in the library together for at least one book.
I welcome family support! Last year, we doubled our participation in both schools, and we have plans to grow the competition this year as well! If you have any questions, please message me.
Thank you,
Becky DeMetrick
